Dolpa region

Nepal has 75 districts and the largest (referred to the area) is the district Dolpa (Nepali डोल्पा जिल्ला Dolpa Jillā).

The district is located in the management-area of Karnali and borders in the north to the “autonomous” region of Tibet in the Republic of China. The Dopla district is one of the most remote region of the country; until today the region has no road connection.

Almost half of the district (3555 km²) is occupied by the Sche-Phoksundo-Nationalpark. This park resides in the northern part of the district – the Dolpa region. The administrative headquarters is located in Dunai Bazaar.
