Langtang region

Langtang (Nepali लाङटाङ) is a village, a Village Development Committee (VDC) and a region in Nepal in the north of the district Rasuwa. 

The Langtang stretches across the river valley of Langtang Khola. In the north it abuts to Tibet. This region is a national park, which is under protection. There are a lot of high mountain-peaks in Langtang, for example the Langtang-Lirung (7246m). There is a wide range of climate zones – from the subtropical climate to the snow levels. Approximately 25% of the park are forest regions.

Langtang consists of several villages and hamlets. The most important ones are: 

  • Kyangjin Ghompa (3860 m ♁⊙)
  • Langtang (3455 m ♁⊙)
  • Rimche (2440 m ♁⊙)
