We&#8217;ll be at the airport waiting for you when you step off the plane, ready to transfer you to your hotel. You&#8217;ve had a long flight, so get some rest: your adventure begins tomorrow!<\/p>\n<p><strong>DAY 2 &#8211; KATHMANDU: SIGHTSEEING DAY<br \/>\n <\/strong>We&#8217;ll meet up today bright and early after breakfast for a full morning of sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. The capital and surrounding geographical area contain more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than anywhere else on Earth, and we&#8217;ll be visiting some of the highlights. Bring your camera as we tour Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath (the \u201cmonkey temple\u201d), and Durbar Square. Afternoon and early evening bring a final briefing and preparations for trekking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3 &#8211; Flight to Pokhara<br \/>\n <\/strong>Leave your hotel for a quick morning flight to Pokhara. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in this beautiful mountain city and prepare for the trek the following day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 4 &#8211; Pokhara to Nayapul, Nayapul to Ghandruk<br \/>\n <\/strong>We&#8217;ll kick the day off with a post-breakfast drive to Nayapul, where we&#8217;ll take the first steps of our trek! Our path will take us past the TIMS checkpost and entry to the Annapurna Conservation Area (time for a permit check!), winding through charming farmland and the Kymche Waterfall. The walking is easy and the views are beautiful. Our first stopover is in Ghandruk, an ornate traditional village that is also the home of the Annapurna Conservation Project.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 5 &#8211; Ghandruk to Tadapani<br \/>\n <\/strong>We&#8217;ll be doing some steep climbing today, although not terribly much of it. The path of ascent is a scenic one, winding through forests of magnolia and rhododendron. In flowering season, the sights and scents are absolutely amazing! If you keep your eyes peeled, you&#8217;ll catch sight of the Nepal gray langur monkey chirping at his peers as he passes through the treetops overhead! Tadapani is a major stopping point on the Annapurna trekking circuit, featuring stunning views of Annapurna II, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machapuchare, the famed &#8222;Fish Tail&#8220; peak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 6 &#8211; Tadapani to Ghorepani<br \/>\n <\/strong>The trek from Tadapani to Ghorepani is notoriously hilly, with lots of up-and-down along the way! Your legs will feel the stretch, but you will delight at the sight of the dense, flowering forests all around you. Our path brings us over stony steps surrounded on all sides by dense undergrowth and creeping vines, making this leg of the trek feel like a proper adventure! We\u2019ll cross the river by a handmade wooden bridge and gain Ghorepani, which has outstanding views of Dhaulagiri.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 7 &#8211; Ghorepani to Poon Hill, Poon Hill to Ulleri<br \/>\n <\/strong>The day kicks off early with an excursion to Poon Hill and an indescribably wonderful panorama of three Himalayan peaks (Dhaulagiri I, Annapurna I, and Manalsu) illuminated by the glowing rays of sunrise. From here, we&#8217;ll also be treated to views of the 6,000m-deep Kali Gandaki Gorge and the visual border of Nepal and Tibet as divided by the trans-Himalayan ranges. It&#8217;s back to our lodge for a late breakfast, and then we\u2019re back on the trekking path! The stone steps are back again, stretching our legs and making for a vigorous early afternoon. We&#8217;ll stop for the night at Ulleri, where you can savor your last views of Annapurna South.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 8 &#8211; Ulleri to Nayapul, Nayapul to Pokhara<br \/>\n <\/strong>It&#8217;s not a long walk between Ulleri and Nayapul, allowing us ample time for the 1 hour drive back to Pokhara, and still leaving time for a half-day tour of the city that trekkers love. This is the home of the tranquil World Peace Pavilion, as well as the International Mountain Museum &#8211; an apt landmark for a team of newly-minted Annapurna trekkers! Be sure to take a look at the traditional Nepali jewelry on display at the market, as it is one of one of the area&#8217;s specialty handicrafts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 9 &#8211; Pokhara to Kathmandu<br \/>\n <\/strong>The six-hour drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu brings us back the way we originally came, ending again in a comfortable hotel. Your long trek is complete: it&#8217;s time for some rest!
